“ERE HIS FLOODS OF ANGER FLOW”

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angles (UCLA) in their report, “The American Freshman:  National Norms for Fall 2002,” detail some intriguing attitudinal shifts among American college freshman students.  Of particular concern is the shift in attitude from prior survey results toward the social issues of marriage and homosexuality.  The report reads in part as follows:

“Support for gay rights reached new heights, with 59.3 percent of freshmen agreeing that ‘Same sex couples should have the right to legal marriage status…” That legal status would make it possible for such individuals to adopt children who would then become the victims of this perversion.

When this question was first introduced in the survey in 1997 the result was 50.9 percent. This increasing acceptance of homosexuality and lesbianism is further highlighted by the finding that only 24.8 percent of incoming freshman agree that “…it is important to have laws prohibiting homosexual relationships,”  That is only one half of the 50.4 percent who agreed with that proposition in 1997.  One would have to conclude from these results that the campaign in the public schools to present homosexuality and lesbianism as acceptable “alternative life styles” is being very successful.

During the past month the nation of Canada has extended official recognition to so called “same sex” marriages.  Another major Christian denomination has approved the ordination of an openly acknowledged homosexual as a Bishop of the Church.  The major media continue to extol homosexuality and lesbianism with open and presumably more subtle endorsements of this practice of perversion.  The advocates of perversion make increasing demands upon every level of government for laws and ordinances that guarantee them the right to engage in perversion.   They also have been able to persuade Congress and many state legislatures to punish individuals or businesses that refuse to do business with individuals and business entities that openly advocate these perversions.

In the midst of this the President of the United States announced that he would ask the congress for legislation that would specifically define marriage in the traditional Christian and Judeao practice of one man and one woman joined in matrimony.  Various members of the Congress have publicly responded that they are prepared to support the President’s legislation.  Several have taken the President one step farther and have proposed that there be a constitutional amendment to that effect.

While this confrontation between perversion and dignity continues, the majority of Americans are quite willing to sit back and await their government’s ability to survive.   Although they find the proposals made by the advocates of perversion to be abhorrent, they have been intimidated by a variety of actors into a state of silent acquiescence.  With the exception of the leadership of the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, even the religious leaders in the remainder of Christianity say nothing.  In other words, even the religious leaders of the day have lost the ability to discern between right and wrong.  If religion is not able to distinguish right from wrong,  good from evil, light from darkness, then for what possible reason would any individual seek or support such a religious entity?

The issue is not just religious or moral, but exceedingly political as well.  The founding fathers of this nation left to us counsel that clearly confirms that if they were among us today their words would be to the effect that if the perversion of homosexuality continues to gain ascendancy in our schools, some churches, and favoritism in legislative enactments it will ultimately be the destruction of the republic.  They regarded the teaching of moral values by the various churches of the land as the assurance that the nation would be protected by those moral values from the tragedy of hedonism. Consider the following from just some of our founding fathers:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable support.  In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens.”                                                                       George Washington

“It is the manners and spirit of a people which preserve a republic in vigor.  A degeneracy in these is a canker which soon eats to the heart of its laws and constitution.”

                                                                                    Thomas Jefferson

“The blessed Religion revealed in the word of God will remain an eternal and awful monument to prove that that the best Institution (the Constitution) may be abused by human depravity;  and that they may even, in some instances be made subservient to the vilest purposes…and if I may so express myself, that no Wall of words, that no mound of parchment can be so formed as to stand against the sweeping torrent of boundless ambition on the one side, aided by the sapping current of corrupted morals on the other.”                                                                                                                                             George Washington

“As long as marriage exists, knowledge, property and influence will accumulate in families.”                                                                    John Adams

“Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone, which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand.”

                                                                                    John Adams

Among our founding fathers there is no known exception to the principle that this nation’s freedom under the Constitution of the United States is totally dependent upon a people who are capable of being governed by law.  Self government under law requires moral values which are enunciated by religion and inculcated into the individual by the family.  Those individuals and institutions who present the perversions of homosexuality and lesbianism as defensible “alternative life styles” are engaged in a conspiracy that will destroy the republic if not counteracted now.  If we are to preserve our heritage of freedom for our children and their children then we must abandon the practice of passively ignoring these subversions of our most vital political heritage and legacy.

What can we as individuals do?

First, be prepared to defend the vital necessity of opposing those who advocate the destruction of the family unit through homosexuality.  You will hear supposedly well- informed individuals assert that others have a “right” to believe what they want.  Yes, they have the “right” to believe, but when their belief becomes advocacy for laws and regulations that will destroy the American Republic, then their conduct is seeking to destroy my rights and those of my posterity.

Second, give meaningful support to those who are visibly engaged in promoting the strength of the family unit in the classical Christian legacy of this nation.  Write the President a letter thanking him for the stand that he has taken.  Write all elected representatives of your home and community, from the city council to the White House, appealing to them to be vigilant in preserving our heritage of freedom made possible by the moral and religious values of our founding fathers.

Third, there are individuals and organizations who are willing and able to meet these conspirators of evil in the courtroom, the legislative chamber, the school room, and the media.  But these individuals and organizations cannot succeed without the financial support of the body politic.  Be prepared to not only give that support but to give it until it becomes a sacrifice on your part.  Any selfishness now, any passive assumption that “others” could or should be left to bear this burden alone will be the very source of hope and encouragement that the conspirators of evil seek.

Finally, make the survival of the American Republic a matter of priority in your home and family.  This means taking the time to read and discuss the counsel of the founding fathers as quoted above.  It means taking the time to kneel in prayer as a family and ask the God who gave us this land of liberty to preserve it from the conspiracy of evil.   Victory in this battle, as in all confrontations between light and darkness, good and evil, is dependent upon commitment of the heart as well as that of the conscious mind.

Benjamin Franklin is reputed to have stated at the end of the constitutional convention in 1787, “…this Republic, which we have given to you by this Constitution, will end in despotism, as other forms of government have done before it, when the people become so corrupt that they are incapable of being governed by any other force.”

The documented research of the last twenty years has shown consistently that children from single parent homes, or the homes where both parents are working, are significantly more likely to become involved in various types of antisocial behavior.  Drug use, sexual promiscuity at a very early age, suicide, school failure, arrest for unlawful conduct are all much more prevalent among teenagers who come from these dysfunctional homes.

Up until now these are homes where the family began with a father and a mother united in a legally recognized marriage.  If this tragic result comes into the lives of children who came from a home where there was at least a shadow of traditional family values, what can possibly transpire in the lives of adopted children in the home of a homosexual or lesbian couple?   What is to become of such a child when this union, for centuries held to be unlawful, unnatural, and in direct conflict with all of the experience of written history, breaks up?  How many clinical psychologists or psychiatrists will it require to provide any type of stability or familial strength to the children who are the victims of a social experiment turned sour?

The anti-family activists throughout the United States, the proponents of legitimatising homosexuality and lesbianism, are working assiduously to propagandize young people into accepting the morally corrupt anti-family philosophy.  What more graphic fulfillment of Benjamin Franklin’s prophecy could there possibly be than the broad based acceptance in the United States of the concept that the traditional family is no longer relevant in our supposedly sophisticated society?   A nation whose citizenry was composed of a significant number of individuals who were the products of such an environment could only hope to be governed by a despotic tyrant whose caprice would intimidate the people into forfeiting all of the freedoms and blessings obtained for them by the blood of our founding fathers.

Let it never be said that we were the ones who by indolence, passiveness, love of luxury and ease, failed to rise to the challenge that is now so obviously before us.
